What stays on your Mac

Your audio and the text it becomes never leave your Mac. Transcription runs entirely on device, using a speech engine bundled with the app. Zumbo has no server that sees your dictation, your notes, or your meetings.

Zumbo has no data retention policy to read, because there is no database to retain anything in.

What does leave your Mac

Three things, and nothing else:

• A license check: your license key, a machine identifier, and the app version, sent to activate or re-validate your license.
• A daily update check: your app version, to tell you when a new one is out.
• An optional feedback message: only if you write and send one from Settings > Feedback, which may include the app version and macOS version.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, acting as merchant of record. Zumbo never sees or stores your card details. Dodo's own privacy policy governs the checkout itself.

Accounts

There is no account. Nothing about you is stored on any server tied to an identity beyond the license key and machine id needed to enforce one Mac per single-Mac license, or three Macs per multi-Mac license.

Children

Zumbo is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
